1. Introduction
Development Consultants International Distribution Ltd ("the Company") is committed to conducting fair, transparent, and compliant social media competitions. This policy outlines the procedures and guidelines for running competitions on our social media platforms, ensuring that they align with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as best practices.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all social media competitions organized by the Company on any platform, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other digital channels. It applies to all employees, contractors, and third parties involved in the planning, execution, and management of these competitions.
3. Competition Guidelines
Eligibility:
Competitions are open to participants as specified in the competition's terms and conditions, usually limited to specific age groups or geographic locations.
Employees of Development Consultants International Distribution Ltd, their immediate family members, and anyone else involved in the competition's administration are not eligible to participate.
Entry Requirements:
Participants must follow the specific instructions provided for each competition, which may include actions such as liking, sharing, commenting, tagging, or following the Company's social media accounts.
Entries must be received within the specified competition timeframe. Late entries will not be accepted.
The use of automated entries, scripts, or any form of cheating or manipulation is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.
Winner Selection:
Winners will be selected randomly or based on predetermined criteria, as outlined in the competition’s specific rules.
The Company reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all winners before the prize is awarded.
The decision of the Company regarding the winner(s) is final and binding, with no appeal or alternative options.
Prizes:
Prizes will be clearly described in the competition announcement, including their value and any applicable restrictions or conditions.
Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other alternatives unless specified.
The Company is not responsible for any taxes, duties, or additional costs associated with the prize.
Announcement of Winners:
Winners will be announced on the Company’s social media platforms within a reasonable period after the competition closes. The Company will also directly contact the winner(s) via the social media platform used for entry.
By entering the competition, participants consent to the public disclosure of their name, username, and any other relevant information required by law.
4. Compliance with Social Media Platform Rules
The Company will ensure that all competitions comply with the specific rules and guidelines of the social media platforms on which they are hosted.
Competitions will include a clear disclaimer stating that the competition is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by the social media platform, nor is the platform associated with the competition in any way.
Any posts, shares, or other activities required for entry must adhere to the terms of service and community guidelines of the respective platform.
5. Data Protection and Privacy
The Company will collect, store, and process personal data from participants in accordance with applicable data protection laws and the Company's Privacy Policy.
Personal data will only be used for the purposes of administering the competition and will not be shared with third parties without the participant's consent, except as required by law.
6. Disqualification
The Company reserves the right to disqualify any participant who violates these terms, engages in fraudulent activities, or fails to comply with the rules of the competition.
The Company also reserves the right to cancel or modify the competition if circumstances arise that are beyond its control, such as technical issues or legal requirements.
7. Complaints and Disputes
Any complaints or disputes regarding the competition should be directed to the Company in writing within a specified timeframe after the competition ends.
The Company will review all complaints and disputes fairly and impartially, but its decision on the matter will be final.
8. Policy Review and Updates
This Social Media Competition Policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory changes, social media platform guidelines, and best practices.
​9. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter and win HELIOS UK Social Media Campaigns or any ran by Development Consultants International Distribution Ltd . A purchase does not increase the chances of winning. Free entry can be obtained by e-mail or letter, see contact details at the end.
10. ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS
Prizes are non-transferable. No substitution or cash equivalent of prizes is permitted. Sponsor and its respective parent, affiliate, and subsidiary companies, agents, and representatives are not responsible for any typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of the campaign, including, but not limited to, errors in any printing or posting or these Official Rules, the selection and announcement of any winner, or the distribution of any prize. Any attempt to damage the content or operation of this campaign is unlawful and subject to possible legal action by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to terminate, suspend, or amend the campaign, without notice, and for any reason, including, without limitation, if Sponsor determines that the campaign cannot be conducted as planned or should a virus, bug, tampering or unauthorized intervention, technical failure, or other cause beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper play. In the event any tampering or unauthorized intervention may have occurred, Sponsor reserves the right to void suspect entries. Sponsor and its respective parent, affiliate, and subsidiary companies, agents, and representatives, and any telephone network or service providers, are not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human error, technical malfunction, lost or delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, line failure or malfunction of any telephone network, computer equipment or software, the inability to access any website or online service or any other error, human or otherwise.
​11. INDEMNIFICATION AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
By entering a campaign, each entrant agrees to indemnify, release, and hold harmless sponsor and its parent, affiliate, and subsidiary companies, the Facebook platform, administrator, advertising, and promotional agencies, and all their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents from any liability, damages, losses, or injury resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from that entrant’s participation in the campaign and the acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize that may be won. Sponsor and its parent, affiliate, and subsidiary companies do not make any warranties, express or implied, as to the condition, fitness, or merchantability of the prize. Sponsor and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising, and promotional agencies, and all their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents disclaim any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from access to or the download of information or materials connected with the campaign.

PUBLICITY
By participating, each entrant grants Sponsor permission to use his/her name, likeness, or comments for publicity purposes without payment of additional consideration, except where prohibited by law.
